Caleb Breakey &
Judith DuCharme
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott weaves together the topic of youth staying in the church with the Green Bay Packers. Crazy? Tune in to find out. Caleb Breakey is a former journalist and author of the new book, Called to Stay (Harvest House). He is a frequent conference speaker with a sincere passion to lead, challenge, and inspire others in discussions about relationships, the church, and radically following Jesus. Ever since earning a degree in journalism at the age of twenty from Western Washington University, Caleb has published hundreds of articles in various publications (such as Chicken Soup, The Seattle Times, MLB.com, Christian Broadcast Network), been named a finalist for Sportswriter of the Year by the WNPA, and has interviewed numerous professional athletes and musicians, including Rogers Clemens, Derek Jeter, Jake Locker, Casting Crowns, and Emerson Drive. Caleb and his wife Brittney live in WashingtonState. More information about Caleb can be found online at www.calebbreakey.com.
jDucharmeJudy DuCharme was a teacher for twenty-two years. Coming from a family of teachers, it seemed a natural fit. She retired in June of 2012. She grew up in the small lakeside town of Harrisville in the northern part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, the youngest of four children. Following college, MichiganStateUniversity, Judy worked as an announcer at a Christian radio station near Lansing. She married Lee in 1975 and they lived in the Detroit suburbs of Berkley and Royal Oak until moving to Wisconsin’s beautiful Door Peninsula in early 1984. At her first writers’ conference, Judy met Eddie Jones of Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas. He was the one who suggested The Cheesehead Devotional. Anyone who knows Judy knows what a crazy Packer fan she is. So, combining two great loves—first and foremost her love for the Lord, and, secondly, her love for the Packers—seemed a perfect match. Several months later, The Cheesehead Devotional became a reality. If you know someone who would be a great guest on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! contact Scott@christiandevotions.us.

Next Week's Show~Nate Stevens

NateSChristian Devotions SPEAK UP! December 10
6:00 p.m. EST
Author, Matched 4 Marriage, Meant 4 Life
Nate Stevens
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! where the topic of marriage steps to the stage. How do we know when the “time is right”? Nate Stevens has studied Scripture for answers and has written a book on how we can know when God is drawing two people together. As a missionary kid who grew up in a Christian home and church, Stevens provides a refreshingly different approach to dating and romantic relationships. His own relational misunderstandings and avoidable mistakes prompted the research and discovery for this book. It is his sincere hope that this book will inspire his children and all audiences to fully consider and strategically pursue true compatibility—in all four aspects. Stevens raises the reader's awareness to the four relational aspects of life: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical. He explains the importance of fully developing the spirit, mind, soul, and body and then describes how they each affect our relational pursuits. He encourages an interdependent relationship as the healthy alternative to dependence or independence. Also identified are the enduring behaviors involved in a successful and enjoyable marriage. Stevens' goal is to lead the reader to a balanced, abundant life and a rewarding journey toward a compatible, fulfilling, and lifelong marriage. Nate currently lives near Charlotte, North Carolina, and is an active dad with his two awesome kids, Melissa and Mitchell. Worship Artist
Matt Papa
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as host Scott McCausey chats with Matt Papa about the words contained in the songs we sing to worship Christ. Matt Papa is a minister and recording artist based out of Raleigh, North Carolina where he lives with his wife Lauren and their three daughters, Paisley, Stella, & Sofi. He serves as an Artist-In-Residence and Worship Leader at The Summit Church in Durham. For over a decade, Matt has been writing and recording songs that are saturated with God's Truth. His latest studio release, Look & Live, is a loud & liberating call to people everywhere to break the chains of boredom, addiction, and idolatry...not ultimately by trying harder but by experiencing a greater thrill—the beauty and glory of God. Next Week's Show - Mountain Man from Duck Dynasty!

Mountain Man
Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! November 26
6:00 p.m. EST
Duck Dynasty’s Own
Mountain Man
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Host Scott McCausey drags the Mountain Man from the woods to share his testimony for Christ and his new Christmas CD. Duck Dynasty star Tim Guraedy is best known to the show’s millions of hard-core fans as “Mountain Man,” the slow-talking air-conditioning repairman/radio host who is a neighbor to the Robertsons, the Louisiana family that made a fortune from its best-selling duck calls, around which the show is based. Mountain Man is the only semi-regular cast member who is not a Robertson family member or employee of Duck Commander. Now in its fourth season, Duck Dynasty has become A&E’s most-watched series in the network’s history. The February 27, 2013 two-episode Season 3 premier tallied 8.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched telecast in network history. While he was born in Louisiana, Guraedy moved around a bit in his youth, spending time in Minnesota, Tennessee, and Indiana. But the lure of the BayouState was too strong, and Guraedy returned to Louisiana, which has been his home for the past twenty-five years. He lives in Monroe, LA, the small town made famous by Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander. Guraedy’s weekly radio show on local station Z107.5, Big Z Country, has become popular all over the globe, with people tuning in via the Internet to hear Mountain Man’s delightful mix of common sense, sports, music—and usually a Bible verse or two. To know Mountain Man is to know a man whose Christian faith is a big part of who he is. “Life’s not easy, but I have God in my life and it’s so much better. So much better,” he has said. “I love being able to actually go to schools and give speeches about bullying, drugs, and abstinence. It makes my soul feel good.” Guraedy is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys both fresh and salt water fishing, as well as hunting everything from wild boar to, well, ducks, of course. Hymn Composer and Songwriter
Keith Getty
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott McCausey continues music month with one of the most prolific modern-day hymn composers, Keith Getty. Keith and Kristyn Getty met in Belfast, Ireland when they began songwriting together. They were married in 2004, and two years later they recorded their first project as a couple in the United Kingdom and Nashville, TN. In 2007, they made the journey overseas to America and lived in Ohio for three years as they began their professional career. They found their permanent home in Nashville in July of 2010. In 2011, the Gettys welcomed a new addition to their family when their daughter, Eliza Joy, was born. The Gettys have released four albums and have garnered incredible success in six short years that include an acclaimed repertoire of 21st century hymns and one of their most impactful live performances. The couple has toured extensively, including with Joy – an Irish Christmas concert tour, which has played many of the nation’s major concert halls, reaching over 60,000 people in two years. They have also appeared at Franklin Graham crusades, the GMA Dove Awards, The Third Lausanne Conference on World Evangelization, as well as feature performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the legendary Grand Ole Opry, and with many other noted platforms. One of Keith’s most popular compositions, In Christ Alone, was co-written with Stuart Townend and released in 2001. The song was well received that year but continues to grow in popularity, remaining the #1 most-sung-hymn in the UK since 2006 (CCLI) and finding position among the top 20 songs in the United States, Canada, and Australia. This Week's Show - John Schlitt

John SchlittChristian Devotions SPEAK UP! November 12
6:00 p.m. EST
Former Lead Singer for Petra
John Schlitt
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott McCausey discusses a story which led John Schlitt from drugs and rock ‘n’ roll to Christ and Christian music. John began singing when he was just five years old, performing the leads in recitals and plays in his school. By the time he was thirteen he was in the unforgettably titled band Vinegar Hills Hometown Band Something Different – being paid twenty-five bucks as lead singer. It soon became clear that a career in music was in John’s future. He finished college with a degree in civil engineering and promptly set about making a name for himself in the world of rock ‘n’ roll. His unique, fiery tenor and unbridled passion for singing landed him a gig fronting the secular rock outfit Head East. John’s eight-year stint with Head East put him on the map in terms of his career. The band was celebrated for its raw energy and swagger. Described by one newspaper as a "brash…cocky, (and) hard-fisted rock band,” the five-piece group enjoyed a loyal following and a string of hits throughout the 70s that helped solidify their fan base. John’s career seemed set, but it all came to a distressing end in 1980 when he was let go by the band. The reason? John had an out-of-control drug and alcohol addiction. Fast forward six years where John Schlitt officially joined Petra in 1986, bringing with him his amazing vocal range and abilities that made him a legend with Head East. Except this time, his mind was no longer blown on drugs and alcohol. He was clean, focused, and armed with a powerful message: God made us to be winners – Jesus Christ is alive and through Him we are to be victorious in His perfect plan for each of us. Next Week on the Show!!!! - Jimmy Needham

JimmyChristian Devotions SPEAK UP! November 5
6:00 p.m. EST
Performing Artist
Jimmy Needham
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott raps with rising Christian star Jimmy Needham about hymns. It's a new season for Jimmy Needham. The nearly decade-long career and six record releases of the twenty-eight-year-old Texas native have put him on the map as much more than a soulful crooner. Needham has built a reputation for himself as a thinker, a challenger, and a wordsmith. After his release of Clear the Stage (2012), Needham parted ways with long-time label, Inpop Records, and set out on his own to brave the waters of an independent record release. Now an indie with big vision for the future, years of experience under his belt, and a loyal fan base to boot, Needham is excited to debut his new album, The Hymns Sessions – Vol. 1. As far as new seasons go, this will be Needham's first release to be completely self-produced, a long time dream of the industry almost-veteran. "Truth be told," says Needham, "The Hymns Sessions was not originally meant for the public at all. I produced this album as a 'thank you' to my Kickstarter supporters (kickstarter.com is an online project fundraiser). We had a shoestring budget and a short amount of time to finish it. I was so encouraged when I followed up with everyone later that year. They couldn't stop talking about how much they were enjoying these ten hymns I sent them! The idea to take these songs public seemed like a good next move." Fans and critics have always agreed there's something special about what Jimmy Needham says in his songs. It's no wonder, then, he chose to do business with the rich lyrical tradition of the ancient hymns for his first specialty project. "The poetic clarity these writers had highlighted showed not only their theological prowess, but their passion for making great art. I'm very excited to be exposing more folks my age to something so timeless." If you know someone who would be a great guest on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! contact Scott@christiandevotions.us.

reggieChristian Devotions SPEAK UP! October 8
6:00 p.m. EST
Author & Family Doctor
Reggie Anderson
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott McCausey chats with Doctor Reggie Anderson about the promise of life after death through Christ.
When a patient first asked Dr. Reggie Anderson to sit at her bedside as she passed from this life, something miraculous happened. As he held her hand, the veil between this world and the next parted … and he received an astonishing glimpse of what awaits us in heaven.
Little did he know this was just a foretaste of what was to come—a lifetime of God-given “appointments with heaven.” Join Reggie as he shares remarkable stories from his life and practice, including the personal tragedy that nearly drove him away from faith forever. As he reveals what he’s seen, heard, and experienced of the afterlife, we’ll learn how we can face the passing of our loved ones with the courage and confidence that we’ll: see them again, discover what might happen when we expect the miraculous, and prepare for our own appointment with heaven.
Soul-stirring and hope-filled, Appointments with Heaven is a powerful journey into the questions at the very core of your being: Is there more to life than this? What is heaven like? And, most important: Do I believe it enough to let it change me?
Dr. Anderson has practiced family medicine for over twenty-five years and recently was awarded The Frist Humanitarian Award by the CentennialMedicalCenter in Nashville. He serves as chief of staff of TriStarAshlandCityMedicalCenter and is medical director of three nursing homes. Reggie and his wife, Karen, have four adult children and reside on a farm in Kingston Springs, Tennessee.

This Week's Show! Joe Prainito and Stephanie Shott

Steph&JoeChristian Devotions SPEAK UP! September 17
6:00 p.m. EST
MOM Initiative Founder / Hospice Pastor
Stephanie Shott & Joe Prainito
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott welcomes back friends and authors Stephanie Shott and Joe Prainito. Stephanie Shott jpgConceived as the result of a rape, Stephanie Shott wasn’t just an unexpected pregnancy … she was a woman’s worst nightmare. After being adopted by two loving parents, she found herself the victim of a decade of sexual abuse. As a young adult, she spent years wandering the wilderness of foolish choices, but since her life-changing encounter with Christ in 1987, Stephanie now takes every opportunity she has to tell of God’s rich and redeeming grace. She loves what Corrie Ten Boom once said: “There is no pit so deep that God is not deeper still.” As a guest on various television and radio shows, Stephanie is called upon to speak hope and healing to those who have suffered from sexual abuse; to remind women they are never too battered, too broken, too dirty, too unlovable, or too unforgivable for God; to call women to courageously escape the Christian bubble. She is founder of The M.O.M. Initiative – a mission centered mentoring ministry devoted to taking Titus 2 to the streets and changing the world one mom at a time. You can find out more about the The M.O.M. Initiative at www.themominitiative.com.
JoesFam Joe Prainito’s public ministry began at the ripe age of fifteen when he auditioned and secured a bass guitar position in a band by the name of Wickeds End. Joe went on to play with other such bands as the Glenn Rowlands Band, Fish Tribe, and eventually joined Redline. Joe accepted a position at a local Hospice in Riverside, CA, which is where he is today. Joe states: “There was some opposition when I first stepped into the Hospice pastoral position because of my age, but as soon as I began to minister to the patients and families, I was always asked to return. The Lord had grace on me.” He continues to minister with Hospice today at the age of thirty-five, and believes the Lord still has great plans for his life to spread the word of God throughout the world. He resides in Southern California with his wife Dena and daughter Juliet. Discover more about him and his new book Identity at http://www.joeprainito.com. Laine is now hosting a national television show soon to be aired on Sundays in the Fall of 2013. The WHOA Show interviews famous believers on how faith made a difference for them including segments on cooking, fashion, music, and so much more. Laine's favorite thing to do when she is not working is to be with her family. She loves to cook and entertain. She enjoys singing and being out in nature—she loves the beach. Author & Public Speaker
Eva Marie Everson
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! with award-winning author and speaker Eva Marie Everson. From the time she was a little girl, Eva Marie Everson wanted to be a writer. It wasn't an easy aspiration to have; her friends told her she couldn't be a writer—girls from their town just didn't do that. They grew up to be teachers or nurses or secretaries—or wives and mothers, which is just what Eva Marie did. She went to school and became a nurse; she worked, got married, and raised children. Eva Marie Everson is an award-winning author of both fiction and nonfiction, as well as an award-winning national and international speaker. She has worked closely with Israel Ministry of Tourism to bring Christian pilgrims and journalists to The Land of the Bible. She teaches at writers conferences across the US and, in 2011, served as a adjunct professor at Taylor University in Upland, IN. Eva Marie is the president of Word Weavers International, Inc., made up of face-to-face critique chapters in the US and Canada. She is the director of Florida Christian Writers Conference, a role she shares with Mark Hancock. Eva Marie has worked with a number of publishers—and not because she is difficult to get along with. Among those she has been honored to work with are: Barbour, David C. Cook, NavPress, Baker Publishing Group, Broadman Holman, and Thomas Nelson. In 2012, B&H, along with Harbinger Media, honored Eva Marie by asking her to novelize the movie Unconditional. Eva Marie has been chosen to be a part of the Spirit of Naples Storytellers Conference, 2013. Find out more at: www.EvaMarieEversonAuthor.com. 6:00 p.m. EST
Christian Recording Artist
Aaron Shust
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott brings back Aaron Shust to talk about making music for God through family trials and miracles. Hardships generally produce sorrow and heartache, but sometimes there's unexpected joy in life’s trials for those who are willing to look. Just ask Aaron Shust. The past few years have been an emotional rollercoaster for the father of three young sons, yet amongst the challenges, there have been miracles with each trial and tribulation. Each crisis led the Centricity Music recording artist to lean more firmly into his faith and the result is Aaron’s new album, Morning Rises, a potent collection of songs that are worshipful, life-affirming, and absolutely celebratory. Aaron has built a successful career on such songs. The Pennsylvania native earned the Gospel Music Association’s Songwriter of the Year and New Artist Dove Awards in 2007 and his song, My Savior, My God was named Song of the Year. Aaron has developed a reputation as a songwriter of considerable depth and substance, and a worship leader with a passionate heart for serving God and bolstering community. Those qualities reverberate throughout his fifth album, Morning Rises. On Cornerstone, first recorded by Hillsong, Aaron sings: “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” Framed within a glorious melody and brought to life by Aaron’s evocative voice, Cornerstone is a powerful statement of faith and celebration of God’s sovereignty that has become a favorite at Aaron’s home church in Pennsylvania where he leads worship.
