  Originally from St. Louis, Deborah Sprinkle received her Bachelor Degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1971. She worked as a research chemist for many years at both St. Louis University Medical School and Washington University Medical School. In 1991, she and her family moved to Memphis, where she completed her teaching certification at what was then called Memphis State. Deborah taught chemistry for ten years at a private Catholic girls' school in Memphis before retiring.
  Kendra Armstrong is an attorney, writer, speaker, patriotic American, and proud mother with a passion for seeking and teaching God's perspective on political and social issues, and using that knowledge to change her world for Christ. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College, her Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Memphis, and her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Exploring the Faith of America’s Presidents was skillfully co-written by both Kendra and Deborah.
 
  Elaine Marie Cooper is the author of The Road to Deer Run, The Promise of Deer Run, and The Legacy of Deer Run. Her passions are her family, her faith in Christ, and the history of the American Revolution, a frequent subject of her historical fiction. Her latest book, Fields of the Fatherless, explores more of this passion. Sarah Loudin Thomas grew up on a 100-acre farm in French Creek, WV, the seventh generation to live there. Her Christian fiction is set in West Virginia and celebrates the people, the land, and the heritage of Appalachia. Her first novel, Miracle in a Dry Season, releases August 2014. Married, with one dog, she now lives in Western North Carolina, which is almost as beautiful as West Virginia. She is a fund-raiser for a children's ministry who has also published freelance writing for Mountain Homes Southern Style and Now & Then magazines, as well as The Asheville Citizen-Times and The Journey Christian Newspaper.   Nivine Richie is a wife, mother, and university professor. She has had the privilege of leading many ladies’ Bible studies or co-leading small groups with her husband, Pat, over the years. She is involved in women’s ministry in her local church and in the Christian faculty organization on campus. Her first book, Enduring Faith: An 8-week Devotional Study of the Book of Hebrews is published by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas and is available on Amazon.

Rebecca Waters draws on her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother as well as her vast experience as an educator and researcher for her writing. She and her husband, Tom, have been married for over forty years and have three grown daughters. Her daughters are all married and mothers themselves to five precious little ones. Rebecca taught in the public school system for nineteen years, kindergarten through grade two. After receiving her doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, Rebecca taught college students seeking to be teachers at Cincinnati Christian University for the next fourteen years. Rebecca’s first novel, Breathing on Her Own, was released on March 24, 2014 by Lighthouse of the Carolinas. It is available on Amazon.com in both print and Kindle versions and is also available through Barnes & Noble.

July 15 6:00 p.m. EST Christian Bands Steve and The Dobyns' Girls & Resident Truth Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP!when Scott shares a taped show from the Rock the Lake LIVE concert with two bands. Steve Dobyns started playing the guitar fifteen years ago. His daughters were young and quickly latched on to the love of music they gleaned from their dad. Not only have the girls learned to love music, they both excelled in the Michigan Home School Music Association. Today Rachel is primarily a flautist and pianist, while Sister Anna focuses on percussion. Together, they make a great trio that leads worship in churches, camps, and concerts. Steve is the minister at the McBride Church of Christ where he and his wife Amy bless the small town and the camp (Rock Lake Christian Assembly) they call home. Resident Truth was formed in 2011 to present the hope that is found in Jesus Christ through their music. Their approach is to incorporate fresh, yet classic-original Christian music with a 1970s southern rock sound. The band members currently consist of: John Quigley, singer-songwriter-guitarist; Mike Robertson, bass guitarist: Jim Keating, keyboard/vocals; Nolan McCausey, keyboard/vocals; Ben Grulke, drums; and Sue Patrick, vocals. Their hope is to reach those outside mainstream Christian music with the goal of spreading the message of Christ's Love while still recognizing the frailty of the human condition. Her newest book, Out from the Shadows: 31 Devotions for the Weary Caregiver (Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas), pulls back the veil on the unique joys and challenges of caregiving. Susan has published two family devotion books, contributed to three anthologies, and written many articles for various Christian publications. Eva Kroon Pike was chosen. She was a dream before she was ever held. At the tender age of ten weeks, Eva was adopted into a loving family that had been waiting and praying for eight years. "These circumstances nurtured Eva into the singer/songwriter she is today with an extraordinary spirit, a compassion for people, a passion to share the gospel, a heart for God, and an awesome voice," as Dr. Jay Dennis, Pastor, Church at the Mall, Lakeland, Florida states. Her vocals are powerful, yet engaging, versatile and unwavering, melodic and soul wrenching. Diversity describes Eva's music style from contemporary to choral, traditional to country, and southern gospel. Eva's life growing up in Central Florida has been influenced by the multiplicity of people which has led to an ability to relate her passions and convictions with soul. "Grace That Chose Me", the title song of Eva's 2010 album, describes the essence of who she is and an ultimate thank-you to her parents for choosing her to be a part of their family over twenty-eight years ago. She co-wrote this album together with Don Koch, songwriter and producer from Nashville who continues to play a significant part in her music. Eva's album was released to radio in January 2011. In November of 2012 Eva released her very own Christmas single to radio titled “Christmas Revolution.” She had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of two RV radio concert tours with Mark Harris of 4Him in October and December of 2012. Eva's newest album titled Love Is All About You was released to radio February 2013. "As much as my first album, Grace That Chose Me, impacted my life and those who heard the message through song, this new album has had so much more of an impact on my life in just the short time I've had the songs and allowed others to hear them." Eva is very excited about 2014 and what God has planned for her ministry.
